05 and 06

I was at my local dealer today checking out the 450s and he was sayin hed get me a left over 05 for 6 grand. Other than the 05's being kick start what other differences are there? Is there a nuetral indicator light on the 06 kick model? Isnt there a difference in plastics too? thanks

the 06 is way more different than you think. faster, better handling, and has way more potential!

Is the electric start even worth the extra couple hundred or what? How hard is it to start up the engine on a cold day with the kick start?

search the site a little there is a list of all the upgrades from 05 to 06, compression-larger air filter-diff gearing-electric start-the list has better details. all in all the 06 is worth the extra $. oh and add the hrc kit and WOW

I just traded a guy for a 05 450R. I kicks alot eaiser than i thought it would. They are kinda hard to start if you stall them out and you are excited. I heard that the 06 are great but they are having some problems with the electric start. All of the guys that are racing them are getting the kick start due to the weight and the little problems that get with electronics. I would do some reasearch and get what will make you happy.

a left-over 05 for $6k does not sound like a good deal at all.

you should be able to buy an 06 for close to that!!

ya not a great deal at all I just bought my 450 (electric) for 6300 o.t.d . so I would say not a real good deal .

The 06 450 has a totally different engine, rear end, well pretty much everything has been changed. It may look about the same but it is a totally new quad.
