I currently have a full Yoshi exhaust and i love it but i was wanting to try something different. I also have had a HMF. For my next pipe i was leaning towards Rossier since i have heard nothing but good things. I was wondering how loud it is and what the difference was between the short & long can. I like the look of the short better but how much louder is it? Also , if you have a Rossier , post your thoughts and pics. Thanks

You will not notice much difference on a stock engine power or noise wise between the two pipes you have mentioned.

Rossier only makes the 1 silencer for the 450R now, its not long nor would I consider it short, but I like mine and the ones I have sold have been doing really well.

I would also like to know how the Yoshi compares to the rossier. Another pipe I have herd nothing but good from would be the DASA.

WPPRacing has some dyno graphs on these two pipes. The Yosh was about a horse more than the HMF.

I love my Rossier short can. It added alot of all around power to my 450R. I have yet to top it out but I can tell a big difference in gears 1 thru 4. All I can say it's hard to keep the front two wheels on the ground now. Get a Rossier short can, you will love it!!

I should be a salesman for rossier engineering. I bought a short can back in July for my 450R and the power is tremendous in the bottom end. The head pipe is designed for the bottom end power but does it does not fall flat on its face on the top end either. Throught the first 4 gears you can pull a wheelie when ever you want. If you decide to get one go ahead and tell rossies what your set-up is and what you want and they will tell you what jets to get and they have the jets right there. They get it right on the first time. I'll put it this way, everybody who rides my 450R or hears it has ordered one for themselves. It is worth the expense. Very awesome pipe for the money. I hear they are making a black can now, but i have never seen nor can find them in their website. good luck!

I have the long can and I LOVE it! It sounds really nice, and you get power everywhere throughout the powerband.

to answer the question of how the pipe is with no heat shield, I kept burning my pants on the pipe so I went to Napa and bought some header wrap. Now I dont have any problems with burning my pants and I like the way that it looks too:)

Hey RacinMason_690 how much did that header wrap run you at Napa because I keep burning my pants on mine too. And do you have any pictures of what it looks like on your quad?

i would try dasa or something else myself. i have had a sparks regular core, rossier, and a sparks with a supertrap disk setup. i feel the sparks pipe run just as good as the rossier when you are on it and it come with more bottom end power for sure. maybe every bike is different but this is what i have seen with my results. i kept the rossier for about a 1/2 year to try it out and change jetting and it never performed excellent. i am not saying it was bad because it wasn't. i just dont' think it puts out more than several other companies. the quality may be better though....i have a ron woods coming but they are behind on making them so who knows when it gets here. this seems to be a more drag specific pipe and the dasa would be my second choice. i bet the dasa will be the one to beat.

cals that is interesting, ive had both also and feel my rossier stomped the sparks in low to mid grunt and the sparks may be a bit more on top. no dyno etc(i dont really believe in them 100% for what is best versus what is worst) just seat of the pants

oh yeah, and the sparks was too loud, the rossier is a bit quieter

Here is a little clip of my Rossier Pipe. Just picked up a used one for around 300. I am very impressed with it. I love the sound and the power is awesome. Makes wheelies a whole lot easier.

Hey Pappy how much extra is it for the black can????

Pappy
03-04-2006, 10:36 AM
I think it is $25 extra for the black can. Pm if you would like full pricing, ive been selling a lot of them and so far everyone is very satisfied

yeah pappy, i hear a lot of different results about the rossier. i simply was not really impressed. my sparks with the disk setup even has more low end power than my rossier did. also, i spent $105 thermal coating the rossier head pipe thinking that may help by keeping the exhaust gases warmer. the build quality seems fantastic but the power output does not seem the best to me. i talked to the kid i sold mine too and he has ran several pipes. he said the rossier felt similar to the full hmf but the hmf seemed to have a small advantage. i honestly could believe this, even though i never ran the hmf pipe on a 450r.

Pappy
03-04-2006, 08:58 PM
haha, we are so opposite on this:p i ran an hmf also and still prefer the Rossier:D it is actually good most of the systems are so close, it can only get better from here, now if they can only make them quieter

i will agree, the rossier is quieter than my open core sparks was. the sparks disk setup is quieter than the rossier though

Low RPM Deep and Throghty!
High RPM Loud and Agresive!

I have heard and I think have seen a dyno that shows that The sparks big core has more hp than the rossier. I know that the rossier and sparks regular core has same power so the big core has to have more power. Also I was wondering if you can race with the sparks big core because of the sound. I see a lot of racers with them but I was just wondering. Also how is the DASA pipe comiing along with hp comparings with these three????

a buddy of mine dyno'd a few different pipes for his yfz. found that the rossier made the most power thru the powerband.

cals400ex

i have seen dynos of rossier and sparks pipes. some show higher power for the rossier, others so higher power for the sparks. however, the peak power is not always the ticket. you are wanting a broad power band that comes on early and stays late. well....i guess it does depend on riding style too. also, every bike is different. there is a good chance the best performing pipe on a 04-05 will not perform the best on an 06. i have ran the sparks and rossier pipes on my hrc equipped bike and after i put in a 12.25:1 piston it it. i simply like the sparks better on both setups. the main difference with the 2 pipes on my setups is that the sparks definatly have more throttle response/low end power. build quality.....sparks falls behind

im selling my sparks big core for $330 if anyone is interested
