When I took my motor apart, I accidently ripped the gasket that goes between the starter gear cover and the gear shaft. My motor guy told me not a long of oil gets up in there, so some sealer would be fine. I put some on, and the starter would just bind up when I would hit the start button and not turn the motor over., I took the cover off, and it spun the motor over fine. Put it back on, and it got binded up again. I loosened the bolts n tried it (like not tight at all) and it spun fine, but as soon as I got as tight as I could by hand, and it still binded. Does that gasket really make that much difference? Just seems awkward to me.
Anyone? And if it does, where can I get this gasket quick and cheaply?

just get a new gasket. www.rockymountainatv.com has the complete set made by tusk for like 15 to 20 dollars. Then just have them next day air them.

No kit comes with this gasket. I just got a full-engine gasket kit from Cometic, and it was not in there. I know I'm gonna have to special order it.
