i am having problems with my FCR carb. please help! Today when i was riding i would land in the middle of a double that i was not jumping, and it would bogg down on me. it would only do it when i landed hard off of jumps and i would also do it when i punched the gas. it asks like it is not getting enough gas. is it the main jet, the needle, or air/fuel ratio? i pulled the bowl off the bottom of it to make sure it did not have any trach in it. it was in good shape.

well if anyone has the same problem and fixed it let me know what your solution the problem.

Thats the FCR for ya :D What size pilot? I went up on my pilot on my '06 TRX and it helped a bit. Also try turning your idle up a bit, it seems to help. I'm used to it now....just part of the FCR. I love the carb.....works much better than stock IMO.

the hesitation on the fcr carb, is it always going to be there or is there something i can do to fix it? i am not sure if mine is hesitation or something else. it just seems to do it when i land hard off of jumps and i am not in the right gears (like if am a gear too high, it will not pull out of that gear or if it does it takes it a while). i just had some problems today where it wanted to die on me.

The hesitation is just part of the FCR, no way around it. Some say the Boyeson Quick Shot or whatever its called works but I've heard mixed results...even some saying it made it worse. You learn to ride with it that way....I have no problems with mine. I rode stock carb on my '04 TRX and made the switch to the '06 with no problems with the FCR. You're jetting might be off maybe if its not pulling a gear high....my bike pulls a gear high just fine. I'd call a motor builder that deals with the FCR a lot and ask them what they think. From my experiences....thats just how the FCR is.

Whats your jetting at right now? I'm running a 175 main w/ a 45 pilot....cant remember where my needle is set at but I have a different needle than the stock one. The jetting is just an idea....

I have a aftermarket FCR on my 440ex that had the bog too. I know my carb is slightly different than yours, but if you can eliminate the accelerator pump that will probably fix it. Without the pump mine has no bog whatsoever, and pulls much harder thru the middle.
Basically, the accelerator pump is flooding it right off of idle.

i know i have a 170 main jet but thats it. i am do not even know where the pilot jet is located. this is a learning experience to me. i am going to move the clip down one spot. i was told it would give it more fuel.

it could be a few things,
your timing on the accel. pump might be off and the fuel could be hitting your slide. What you would have to do is take your carb off (keep the bowl full of gas) and punch the throttle hard. Watch to see that no gas hits the slide as you punch the throttle. If it does adjust the timing of the pump so that it misses the slide, the timing screw is located where the throttle cable is attached to the carb(under that black cover)

See if that helps, because it sounds like you are getting air but no fuel, which is a result of the fuel hitting the throttle slide.

In the HRC kit the book said to turn the accelerator pump setting 1-1/8 turns out from standard posititon. My 06 has that done with 185 main and 50 pilot and it has no dead spots.

I got my fcr off of one of John N race bikes and it works perfectly. I beleave that it is a sparks carb. I did put a bouysen quickshot on it and it worked even better.

why change the leak jet to a 35?

i have a 170 main jet and a 42 pilot jet.

there is a jet to the right of the main jet, i am not sure what it is called but it is a 72.

my clip position is at three from the bottom.

i am going to order a zip fuel screw monday before i put it back together.

i pulled the plug out and it does not look that bad.

FCR is supposed to be so much better.
But, it definately doesn't seem like it to me.
Especially, when you consider the cost of one.

If you have ridding a trx with a FCR and then without you would definitly feel the difference and it is worth the cost. I luckly didn't have to pay a dime for the one I have. I took it off my 02 crf that I parted out. As for jetting and bogging, I took every bit of bogging out of mine with jetting, and squirt adjustment. Plus any carb you have is going to take set up time. The way I look at it the more you work with it the better you get with it.

I think it's a 70 or 75? and yes the hrc kit comes with a 55 leak jet.
