Oil sight glass leak

Anybody but me have problems with oil leaking out of the sight glass. The original side case glass leaked slightly so I took it the be repaired b/4 warranty ran out. The service writer at the dealer said the entire side case had to be replaced as the glass is not avail as an indivdual component. The replacement leaked worse than the original - it's back at the dealer for replacement again!!??

NO never herd this before even with CRF's or TRX's maybe 2 in a million and you got both.:D sorry

someone had a problem like this once, what year trx450r are you refering to? is it chipped cracked?

'06 450 w/ insp glass near front of case. And no. not damaged at all. In fact the dealer had me sign for an inspection estimate before calling it a warranty issue in case he found a cracked case or anything else. He said he had another one in for a similar repair before. I lurked through this and other forums researching but didn't find anything about this. For everybodys sake I hope mine is an isolated problem.

yah...ive only heard of this happening one other time...maybe its the oil your using?

Got it back from dealer repair thursday 3/2. Headed to glamis fri, sat, sunday. No leaks - dry as a sunbleached bone. Maybe its fixed?!:)

I saw an 06 this past sunday with a leaking inspection glass. It only had about 5 hours on it.:(

It seems to be the case a couple of times I've seen myself. We haven't had to replace any yet, but I have heard of a few in the area (county) Luckily they weren't bought from us so I didn't have to order any :D
