some Q's about 450r

Im in the market for a new quad for this spring. I was almost certain about the new raptor until i really looked at the 450r. It seems that its just as big as the raptor and its pretty badass looking too. How is the reliability on this new quad? Whats the power like? Hows the weight? and just he overall veiw of it. thanks alot guys.

I love my 06 450 er the power is great every thing is great even the electric start. The only thing (very minor) would be the front suspention, it is alittle stiff for me. I ride mostly in the woods. :D :D

as for the reliability ion my view of the 2006 trx450r. i put gas in and go. do routine oil changes and clean the filter every now and than and you will be fine for a long time.. but down the rode it will or might need a valve adjustment. i know people who have gone well over 100 hours without even looking at there valve adjustment on there 450r. but than again valve adjustment are gonna be present on every 4 stroke quad, raptor yfz450, suzuki 450 and so on. as for the power, it is crazy, if u are a novice maybe a 400 will do. it has crazy low-mid and top end quad. in my view it ha more top end power than the yfz and the 700 for sure. thw weight isnt bad at all feels light. i like the quad alot, and if ur not happy the hrc power kit is a easy way to really open the 450r up. good luck!

first of all: Honda=reliability
i had a 04 450r and ran stock class with it. smooth controllable power and fast. sold the 04 and got an 06 450er. same thing smooth controllable power and a little faster. was working on our friends 01 raptor this past weekend and the rear end on that thing is way heavier than the 450r. dont really know about the new raptor. also the 06 450r sits a little lower than the 04/05 but still is comfortable. i think it sits lower than the new raptor but dont quote me on that. one more thing honda has developed the best handling sport quads over the years starting with the 250r and the 450r is no exception.

the 450r for 06 is great combo of handling and power no way your not totally pleased with it and with the hrc kit , holly cow it will rip.....it weighs less than the 700 raptor by about 50 lbs and will outrun it even with less ccs (the raptors do have reverse) and a plush ride. and the handling is like day and night diff. from 05 to 06. oh yeah the 700 is fuel injected (maybe a pro maybe a con. first years sometimes have bugs but i havnt heard of any yet) the honda vs yamaha vs suzuki etc. will go on forever but most will confess that honda reliability is second to none.
