Shipping Plastic

Need some help. Just bought some used plastic from guy on E-Bay. He charged $30 S&H. I thought kinda cheep. I won & paid him now he is renigging causew he claims he can't ship under $145. Any one have tips on shipping plastic, I be greatly appreciate. Already got rid of mine and order graphics & seat cover.

dont let him fool you,I got my 450r and 400ex plastic shipped to my door for 45 bucks.the 400ex plastic came from halfway around the country

THe price dosnt surprise me. Unless you are a dealer they rack you on shipping. It is considered an oversize package and even though it may only weigh 14 lbs they consider it 120lbs.
You can ship through Grey Hound its kind of a pain but you can probably get them to ship it for around $45. I have shipped alot of plastic.

i've sold and shipped plastic with the seat still on it and it only cost 45.00 i think he is trying to make up for lost monies just get your money back and drop him

I appreciate all the input. Where and long ago did u ship for $45? I kind of believ him, I was thrown first time I sold on E-Bay. I ended paying someone to take my item.. Wasn't as much as this but he's not coming out in the whole. I told him I'd split the $145 with him but the $30 I already padi for ship is deducted from my half (145 / 2 =72.5-30=42.50). He didn't like that, thought he still getting the shorter straw. thanks agin. He put me n biund. Auction ended 7 days ago, I was about to buy new plastic wk b4, got rid of mine , bought graphics seat cover griup for blue instead blk. Spent other money now can't afford new.

Just to see if he is full of it, ask him for the box dimensions and the weight, and you can put it in on the ups and usps site and get a price yourself.. I know for a fact that UPS only charges and extra $5 or $10 for oversized item.. I can also recall shipping plastic for around $45 so I think he just isnt willing to sell it for what the winning bid was..

Like stated above, that is probably a reasonable cost considering it is an oversized package. I shipped plastic out, tried UPS and FedEx, both being about $150 because it was an oversized package though it only weighed about 15lbs. I ended up shipping through Forward Air and saved about 60 bucks.

He said he made own box like a trianle, I think 36X36X18 at 10 lbs. I gave him some of your suggestions like 2 boxes & grey hound.

I shipped a full set of banshee plastic to kansas and it cost me $47. I used Fed-Ex. I think this guy is trying to rip you, or just make a little extra money. You'd be better off to get your money back, or hold him to the deal, then to pay the extra money.

How long ago was it and how did you package it. I'm thinking y not just wrap in something & stick label on it.

I shipped it about 6 months ago, and all I did was taped cardboard on the edges and saranwrapped the hell outta it, too it to Fed-Ex and they slapped a label on it. Hope this helps.

When I was shopping gor new Maier Plastic for 04 TRX450R best prices were at www.rockymountainatv.com cheaper than anyone I could find even Maier. Problem is prices wwere different every time $6-$10 per item. I know sometimes if u go 2 their site through another get better deal. Just don't remeber how I got there with lowest $

well that explains it that is why i dont buy anything off ebay outside of the 48 states especially canada it has to go through customs and all that bull which makes it higher

i sold a set of plastic for $60. shipping costed me $18 ups ground. i shipped it out of a boat compiney.
