400ex Big Bore 416? 426? 440?

What kit would be the best for reliability and the most power without having too many problems? What kind of power increases can I expect from each? I do mostly trail riding and like to blast around the gravel pits.

I would go with a 426, 11:1, with a stage 2 cam. But thats me. It has good alround power. You really cant go wrong with any of them. Power i would guess around 32-35 hp. I am probly a little high but maybe not.


Their will be someone else on here that can give you more info on all the different bore sizes.

go to the 400ex forum, this issue has been beat to death, brought back to life just to be beat to death again.

but IMO you cant go wrong with any of them. i would go 416, that way you can always go to a 426 later if you want. or you can do a 426 re-sleeve so you can go up to a 440 later in life. personally i think a 426 is teh best bore out there, and not just because i have one. i have ridden 406's, 416's, 426's, and 440's and the 426 had the best all around power of them all.
