Still have 2 more years of warrenty on my R but once its up im going through the motor and going 12:1 piston for the same reason as you, want to use pump gas.

I had a 12:1 for a while and it does help performance. I don't think it's the compression helping out though I believe it's more in how much lighter the after market piston is over the stocker because 12:1 isn't that much over stock and it's actually less than the stock 06. There is still a performance differance so I say go for it.

That is another reason why I figured 12:1 would still be fairly reliable when ridden hard alot. I dont race but I am always up near the lmiter and I love to jump.

Been doing more trailriding since I got my shocks dialed in.

I went wiseco 11.5 just to be safe, hot cam stage 2, falicon rebuild on the crank with knife rod.
I want power but more so I want it to stay together this time.

leave it stock it has enough power with a pipe and air filter, unless you are in pro-am or pro

ask colby at c&d about thermal coating a piston, you can run a 13:1 with pump gas if it's thermal coated and still get the same amount of power just call him up and ask

My bud just got a 13.1 piston. He is having other probs, so it has yet to fire, but man is it a b*tch kick over. He says it will go away once it is broken in, I doubt it.

I've got a 13:1 piston and it's not difficult at all to kick over.. My 12 yr old son can even kick it over.

I heard someone told him that his piston was hitting the valves, so that is probably why its tough to kick. Or he's a p*ss.

Which manufacturer makes a good 12:1 piston for the 04-05? I have heard that there are two ring, and three ring versions. I would think the three ring would be better. I'll be running it with a hmf sport slip on and a sparks drop in cam. Any thoughts?

DASA sells the JE 12:1 with 3 rings
