plug fouled can i?

so im working on a friends quad and it wont start. i pulled the plug and it was all black so i think its fouled(i dont know how to read a plug so if its not fouled let me know) so i took some sandpaper and sanded off the black build up and cleaned it out in some gas. will the spark plug work or once its fouled is it total garbage? thanks

Plugs are like $2 a pop. Just tell your friend to give you $10 and you will know that you will have a good plug and many in reserve.
