stage 1 wouldnt be a bad choice, simple to install, just switch them out and re-adjust valves

I thought stage oen hot cam was for mid to top end gains for power that is what it said when I was looking at buying one.

i would not wast the money on just a cam if i was you. if you put a cam in your bike i would bore it out prob to a 416. i put one in a buddys bike and could not tell and difference in it. that is what i think but you can do what you want to do. also different people may think different about it also.

I also wouldnt just put in a cam. I would also do either an overbore and/or high compression piston. With this you will notice more of a gain then with the cam alone.

i just put a standard bore 11:1 piston with a stage one and love it. my friend has a 13:1 450r standard bore and a hot cam stage one and on the staights im dead even but in turns and jumps my stock suspention kinda limits what you can do

but you say you want more torq. i would go with a cdi box. cheap easy and noticable torq. many may say no but my cdi box is awsome and i do notice more lowend power, or you can go with a 14t sprocket, gives lowend power but i didnt like the power band

i just put a 14 tooth front sprocket on my 400 and i like it very well it still has stock on back. if i was you i would try that first it you just won't more bottom end this will really help you out. my bike will pull the tires in 4th gear now that i have put the 14 tooth on it. this is some cheep power like 15 to 16 dollars and it is worth it.
