Just reading some posts on other site, and wondering how many of you guys have had broken frames, cracks, etc. I have an '05 90 that my nephew rides. Was thinking about racing. What has anyone done to correct/prevent this problem? If I need the frame welded for gussets, is there anyone in ny/nj/pa area to do this & also weld nerf bars? (i live in north nj, can drive 2-3hrs) Since I dont have a welder, I'm @ the mercy of others.

so, should this be a concern or should I not worry about it for now? I also use it as my pit bike @ the track while I roderace my bike.

Any serious racing which means any racing should have gussted frames. Mini frames (stock) are not much and it wouldnt take much to break them.

Anyone have a cost for gussetting a frame & adding nerf bars? Sucks that the whole bike needs to be taken apart.

You can do the gussets yourself if you know how to weld. It is actually pretty simple. I looked at the kit that hetrick sales and added 3 extra gussets to my predator 90. The problem I keep having is it will break where the swing arm connects to the frame. It is very thin and takes a lot of punishment. Once I got my gussets done, I had everything powder coated and I have not had any problems after 2 seasons on it.

If you do not have a welder and need it done, let me know and I will do it for you for a lot less than the big companies will do it. I can also take it to my powder coater if you want me to. It cost me 200.00 to have the frame, swing arm and A-arms sandblasted and powder coated. Pretty good deal from what I am seeing on the internet.

Let me know!

here you can see the gussets on the top of the frame and the one on the left side of the motor mount tube, you can not do this on the right side as it will interfeer with the chain.

you will have to buy your nerf bars before you have the pegs welded on the frame for them. i have yet to see a pair of ac nerfs that the tubes are straight. also the mounts for the floorboards will have to be cut off the frame for the new nerfs.

You can buy a set of nerfs from APEX that will bolt right onto the predator. That is what I did with my sons!

hello just for further info you should never gusset a frame in the middle of the tube its best to use two but if your going to use one stick it on one side not in the middle you dont get the max out of the gusset. i know it dont look right but its the truth

I assume these are the ones? So with these all you do is take the floorboards off and they bolt right on? That would be slick!

Those are the ones. You take off the boards and these will bolt right on in their place. You cant beat the price and the ease of putting them on.
