charging system

i change the stator on my 400ex because i have spark probl.

i put use stator and now, it's perfect

before change stator, my heater thumb and grip not work good..

at high, the thumb and grip is warm but not hot

actually, same of the old stator.

i check my charging system, idle=11.6v and 5000rpm = 12.3v

when i ride 3hour, i stop the bike, and it start very good

this is posible the rectifier is bad????
rectifier charge half???
or my use stator is bad????
how check the stator????

it seems like things are working but just at a lower voltage..

does the rectifier feel hot?

disconnect the warmers and measure the voltage again.

if it goes higher than before, then your problem is with the amount of watts your using. the warmers could be too much of a load for the electrical system.

if the voltage is the same, then its possible the rectifier is bad and internally shorted.(or the stator is bad..)

im not sure how to check the stator... maybe you could tell by measuring the AC output of the stator.
someone here might know the stators loaded/unloaded output voltage.

sounds like you may be drawing too much power or it is your rectifier. disonect the heaters and check the voltage again.
