View Full Version : kicking over INSANELY HARD!

ok. I just got a brand new cylinder and piston and rings put in my 05. AGAIN. lol. But now when i go to kick it over...it hits the "sweet spot" and STOPS. and then its EXTREMELY hard to kick. It runs perfect. But i had a problem KINDA LIKE THIS before and it was my decompression valve was just out of adjustment.

I also forgot to say that we just installed the HRC kit along with the new top end...and i believe that the adjustments were a little different from stock (correct me if im wrong). So anyways, everything is in adjustment. but the decompression valve seems to be a little bit loose when you wiggle it back and forth. almost like it has too much freeplay.

ANYWAYS. my question is..is it possible that the decompression valve wore out and is now causing it to have too much freeplay?? which in turn is causing my bike to be alot hardder to kick over???

IM just a little mixed upp here right now (obviously)

any help would be appreciated

decompressor clearance for the 04-05 bikes with HRC kit = adjusted exhaust valve clearance in mm's + 0.25mm or adjusted exhaust valve clearance in inches + 0.010"


valve clearance with HRC cam:

intake valves = 0.16mm (0.006in)

exhaust valves = 0.28mm (0.011in)

bump.

ok. also, we have been having problems with my bike revving out 7,000 rpms. We obviously thought at first that the problem was our CDI, which had justbeen replaced by a janseen racing one. But after putting another CDI on the bike we found that it is still having the problem.

Does anyone know what THIS could be????

Your decompressor is probably set wrong or your cam timing is off.

double check to see if your crank and cam timing marks are lined up.

Need to know full details on mods before we can give any recomendations-full HRC kit or just cam, full exhaust, jetting, etc.

STock bore now. 11:5:1 wiseco. HRC KIT. and full yoshimura exhaust. main jet is a 195. and im running a uni filter.

Drop the main to a 185, with HRC air box lid, cam and full exhaust!
Should take care of top end problem -set decompressor to .021 between 2 arms-.011 normal valve clearance+ .010 for decompressor!
