Where do insurance companies get rid of their wreck quads? do they auction them or sumthin?

They sell them to yamaha and then yamaha puts there name on them and sells them.

I highly doubt they get many wrecked quads. 95%+ of the claims would be for stolen quads. If they did happen to get one, they would probably let you keep it for salvage.. or at most they would just toss it into the local auto salvage auction.
Call the local progressive claims center and ask them.

I dont know about where you live , but around here they hold auctions . They usually list the dates of the auctions in a Trader or in the newspaper . I've seen some pretty sweet deals , especially if you just wanna replace plastics or an a-arms .
