I am just coming off a pretty serious shoulder injury, and have a big riding trip planned in Mid April. My doctor suggested a shoulder brace, to not overwork things, and said he treated a couple of MX guys that brought them in to show him, and he liked the way they functioned.

I was able to find a couple on the net, but was wondering how much they limited your mobility and if they really held everything in place as well as they claim.

After I seperated my left shoulder, I used a shoulder brace and added a steering damper to my quad. It worked wonders.

Didn't really limit my movement at all. Think about it, you dont really move your shoulders that much.. they pretty much point forward/slightly down and pivot within 10deg of stationary. They do absorb a lot of pulling stress which is why you need the brace.
