06 HRC 450R vs 06 700Raptor (stock)

My buddy got an 06 700 raptor, I just finished break in and first maint. on my 450er with hrc kit. we are going to waynoka early april, how close will this be ? both of us been riding about 6-7 years. he had 03 660 (stolen) that was really close vs. my 87 250r (pipe/k&n). We ride wooded trails and he cant keep up but straight in the sand ?
I'll post results just trying to get an early feel. I see lots of stock vs stock threads but when i got the 450 the dealership installed hrc before i took it home. is the hrc worth a few more bike lengths ?

he had 2 stolen, an 01 660 and an 03 660. one had insurance the other didnt. said it really sucked to make payments on something he didnt even have anymore. I pitty the trash that tries to steal his 06. (I didnt mention he is an electrician). ill be shocked ( or someone will be) if they try to get off with this one. I wonder if the 700 is worth the thiefs life.

You should be able to take him. Heck, I beat all of the ones that I have raced when all I had was a pipe and airfilter! Not to mention that mine was an 05, and the HRC should add even more than what I had.

you should take him the my buddys 04 with a pipe, jet kit, and air filter is side by side every time with our friends 700 raptor. and from what i read the 06 450r is susposed to be faster so you should win.

well we didnt wait for waynoka, we went riding at the local trails (there is a short dirt drag strip) a little bumpy but good through 4th gear (not sure exact lenght. It wasnt as close as i thought it would be..... by 3rd gear i was pulling away pretty hard. ran about 8-10 times with same result there was a 416ex and a z400 and a banshee also running. banshee was really close, who ever got the hole shot held it to end. about 50-50. the 416 also pulled the 700 raptor but not by alot. the z400 pulled up the rear, no knocks on any of them we traded rides back and forth and all where fun, that banshee had a power band that wouldnt quit. it acctually felt faster than mine.

banshee's are mean little bikes I miss mine best hill cilmber i ever thru a leg over!!

i repeadetly smoked a 700 today..he had a GYTR or something like that exhaust and it was remapped for it...he knew how to ride too

Exactly what comes in a HRC kit? It sounds like high comp. piston (if so, what is it), top end cam, jet kit, exhaust, airbox lid. Can someone clear this up for me?

u get a cam, header pipe, and a jet kit. u remove the airbox lid and a exhaust restricter thing. i beleive u clip a wire of some sort to get the extra RPM's

Well, do you want to destroy him now. Buy a top notch full exhaust and a drop in cam. We can help you peace together the rest of the HRC kit. That's what I did with mine and it pulls an HRC kitted '06 with ease.

yes i think the full exhaust would help but how much more over the hrc heade and end cap ? it looks like the hot-stage 2 is the choice cam but how much more power ? dont get me wrong it rips now but im reluctant to spend another $1,000.00 for just a bit faster in a drag. what about a slip on ? I was about 3/4 length behind the banshee.(my front tire was even with his back tire)
