Header pipe has an exhaust leak causing backfire on decel. I contacted HMF and It turns out I have the old style header, and they are known to have leak problems where they mate to the head. I am in the process of shipping my old header pipe back to HMF and they are sending me a brand new, newer design header. The exhaust has been mostly in sand only, and is in VERY near PERFECT CONDITION. When my new header arrives from HMF I will put the silencer in the box with it and ship it straight to the buyer of the system.

I will STRONGLY consider TRADES with cash for ANY SLIP-ON.

I will post pics of header pipe later this week when it arrives.

Just curious how much the system runs new? How loud would you rate pipe. Also I am curious of why you are selling and why would you trade for another slip on? Thanks

You can get it for 400 new. It is in the louder pipe catagory. Not the loudest though. I think its a pretty good deal

On a 400ex HMF and Sparks are right up there for being the loudest...ive never really seen a db sheet but without the quietcore the hmf is pretty loud...and 350 shipped?

It is pretty loud but its not an obnoxious loud at all. You can get a Brushed aluminum can off Ebay for around $405 But I think the polished is higher. I was unaware of that however and spent $455 on this one. Im pretty firm at $365, I had it at $400 until I found out about the ebay thing and then I lowered to $385, now $365. Also Im including shipping...

I am selling because I am parting my EX. I would trade for a slipon to put back on the bike before I sell it. It has a hotcams and putting the stock exhaust back on would choke it down a little...

I guarentee there is nothing wrong at all with this pipe. Buyer will be extremely pleased.

How much difference will you notice with the header? I have rode several 400s with slip-ons but never a full system. My local dealer told me that the stock header is pretty good and its not worth the money for a full system.

I tried to put the HMF silencer on with the stock header and The silencer swallowed it. There was prob. 1/4-1/2 inch gap on each side of the tubing on the silencer with the header inside it. When I sent my leaky header back they called and told me it flowed 200% more than the stock header on a flow bench. Nothing aginsed stock honda exhaust because they are pretty decent for stock, but they just dont compare. This will overpower a slip on for sure. And The more mods you have to the motor the more the full system shines.
