wow good job being a smartass, and not even coming close to trying to answer his question.

I'm not sure if they are in your area yet, but after just recently buying an electric start 06, from what I understand they are going to be very rare, I think only 300 are being made, and I was told that one can easily add a kick start to the electric start bike though. so thats why I just went ahead and bought an electric start, planning on adding the kicker...

well, you may not be able to do it, but the cases are the same, and by simply buying all the compenents and installing them, you can add a kick start to your 06 electric start engine. I am having my engine builder do this right now, to save weight for my TT bike this season.

here is their number incase you want to call and ask them about it yourself, desratt, (661) 872 4343

hey I didn't say if couldn't be done.

cfracer03 you said that one can easily add a kickstarter to an electric start bike.

if it is so easy then why aren't you doing it yourself...

well, I actually talked to my engine builder today and he said some of the parts to add the kick start are on back order from honda, so it looks like I will be doing it myself later in the season, but it can be done, and its not that hard.

the only reason I was bashing you is because when jakes699 first asked his question you just smarted off about him getting the lettering of the bike wrong, which is completely insignificant. It just annoys me when people make pointless posts and I felt that was a pointless post. Next time just put in some useful info or don't get involved in the thread. No hard feelings...

jakes699, I'd call it a 450sr for 'smart' start, or maybe 450dr for dual start (yea that was corny, but whatever) cause you have the convenience of an electric start but if something goes wrong in the electronics or as simple problem as a dead battery, you always have the back-up kick starter. I guess the only negative aspect to having both is a little extra weight.

to me it would be worth the weight and the money cause I've lost a race before on the last lap cause I stalled and my battery was dead. that sucks! but at the same time I wouldn't want a full kick start bike cause sometimes they are a pain to get started, and can wear you out.
