300ex wont go into reverse after new clutch

Just finsihed up the 300exs new cltuch but now it wont go into reverse any idea guys??? everything seemed to go in fine once I took that dumb reverse switch out and then slide the cover casing over it rather than keeping it on the case itself trying to than line it up....please help guys thanks

I think I put the part on the outside the wrong way, with the cable right behind the rear brake pedal That could do it hu?
