View Full Version : Mixing different brands of 4 stroke oil

Is this okay to do? I have a quart of Maxima and a quart of Honda HP4, both 10w40. Is it ok to use both of them? I do it all the time in my car with different brands, but bikes seem more sensitive to that kinda stuff.

I don't see why it would hurt anything. they are both for a wet clutch and they are both real good oils. so why not

I wouldnt mix it,i also wouldnt change brands all the time either whatever brand i start with is what ill use from now on.

As long as your not mixing synthetic with petroleum your fine.

dino oil is dino oil no matter who makes it.

Ive been using honda GN4 10w-40, but ive heard its bad to use in hot weather, and its about to start warmin up alot around here...so for my next oil change will it harm anything if i change to Amsoil synthetic 20w-50?
