better plastics

what are the better 400ex plastics, the classic double headlight 99-04, or the old 450r hood-style 05-06?

i like the old style 99-04 ex cause its more unique and not a copy of its bigger brother.

i like the old school style. i think each quad should have its own look, not much of a copy-cat fan.

The second thing that brought me to the 400ex was the headlights/plastics... The first was Honda of course.

thats a really good point, because some people have hoods on their older model quads, which kind of makes it look more like the newer style, even though they say they like the older style...i guess theres generally going to be a bias depending on what year of quad you own

I think the 450R is ugly and therefore I think the new ex is ugly.

yeh same here. I like to be able to see a quad from the distance and know exacally what it is. Not a big fan of look alike quads.

all the honda quads are gonna look like the 450r, first it was the 400ex then the 250ex and trx90 i wouldnt be too suprised if next year the 300 has 450 plastics and if i ever bought a new 400ex i would wait til the plastics got crappy and get the old style to replace them and rewire the lights it has been done b4 so i know i could do it

Oldschool.....that defines the 400ex instead of everything looking like a 450r

I love them both. I like the old style, but to be honest, if I had the chance, I would get the 05 style black plastics just to match my 450r.:D

There the exact same plastics other than the headlight/hood. I like the old style but I am a little bias. I like new new style also. Everyone puts a hood on anyway and they look the same.

I agree so much with this. The only reason I would get an 05, 06 is because reverse would be nice for what I do.

thanks for all the input guys, dont think i will update my plastics, i still like the old style, i guess if i do anything it will likely be a hood, they are cool, espeically that new quadtech one:D
