Don't let the expense throw you out of racing though. Just find a series/track where you can run what you have. Take it easy, and learn for a while. Get a job, or a summer job when the time comes, and you can make modifications/upgrades as you can afford it. Not everyone started racing with a tricked out yfz450....you have to start somewhere. Don't get me wrong, if you wreck, or run into internal complications, you will get into some pretty costly repairs, which could leave you unable to ride for a while, until you are financially able to make the repairs. Good Luck!

Anything will be ok to start on, but as you get more experienced, you'll want to start looking for a bigger quad, like a 450...or a predator...or raptor,etc....

Hey i started on a warrior set it up as good as i could for XC racing first C class race i worked my way to 5th out of like 35 i think bout the last lap i went to pass for fourth and pulled my tether off the quad took me 5 minutes to find my tether cause it had ripped it off of the line and i ended up 19th but the warrior is a great quad. I jsut got a 450R and truthfully gelt a heck of alot more comfy on my warrior
