swing arm skid plate on 2006

Has anybody installed a 04 or 05 swing arm skid plate on a 2006???

I just got a skid plate for my 06 and it is not clearing the rear suspension linkage. Bolt holes line up, but the linkage is in the way. I am thinking there either is manufacturing glitch or I was shipped the wrong skid plate.

Any help would be appreciated... thanks

what brand of skid plate? I had to modify my prm slightly so it wouldnt hit the linkage.

So you bought a skid plate designed for a 2006 450r and had to modify the skid plate so it would work? That does not seem right...:confused:

Anybody else have this problem, is this standard practice?

(It is a Standard aluminum aftermarket .190 skid plate. This might just be a mixed up shipment, so I don't want to start any bad publicity for the manufacture.)

i bought the 04-05 DG Baja for my 06 no problems!!!But the belly plate is different for the 06..Get the PRM stuff..Nice fit and finish and very durable!!!

i also got a prm skid for my 06 trx and had to take a grinder to the box that protects the linkage. it only took afew minutes with a heavy duty table mounted grinder but it was non-convenient!
i called them and told them. i dont know if they corrected it or not. that was a couple of months ago. i just ordered the elka dual linkage and am figuring im going to have grind some more!:mad:

Yep, it looks like I have to grind abit on the linkage part of the skid plate in order for it to fit. I will do this instead of sending it back.

I wonder if PRM redesigned the linkage part? I will have to give them a call about it. I plan on picking up my 06 ER next week, and skidplates are one of the first things I will buy...
