Their site says this engine is for someone who wants a very strong, but reliable engine. How reliable do you think a 465 is? That's a very large bore compared to the stock or even the 440 which is very large. Is there even much aluminum left after putting in the 465 sleve?

It is a 440 sleeve, then they stroke it to get the cc's up to 465. I dont know how reliable it would be but i think it would be about as reliable as a 440.

Last weekend I actually rode one of Sparks 465 National kits. I was out at Pismo and a guy out there had his engine done over a year ago, and has had no problems at all. Sparks Engines are some of the best in the country. They are fast as shi@.

..Hey NacsRacing400 are you sure its stroked??Sparks uses a thick sleve the hole way down,a 440 is a 88.5 bore,or close to an even 89,but i thought he used a 92mm bore to get a 456 out of it,i thought it was all bore??But I could be wrong??And timewass if it built by Sparks go for it,He's one of the best, you'll pay for it,but you get what you pay for..Thanks

nope, sparks doesnt stroke their's. Its a 92mm piston in their own sleeve.

It's a 88mm bore which is the same as a 426, with 6 mm stroke that comes out to 463.79 something cc's(that is what TC did for 465stroker). There are also 460 kits that are just a straite bore and 460 kits that take a 69mm piston (which is what you get in your 440 kits) and strokes the crank 4mm. That is what LRD's is. i am pretty sure that sparks is a stroker.

i want to retract my statment a 92 mm piston does take the cc's up to 465 exactly. So i have no idea if spark's is a stroker or not.

Sparks is NOT a stroker. 465 Pure Power (http://www.sparksracing.com/Sparks_Center/400X/Sparks_465_pure_power.htm)

Search for TrX465 on this board as well and read his sig. He has the sparks 465. Notice that page does not include stroking..

Thanks guys. I have a friend who has the 465 national and wants to sell me the engine because he wants to go back to a 440 for MXing.

So is that the cc limit for 4 strokes? I figured the 2 stroke cc limit would be 250 or 310 and they race banshee's? What about raptors? I heard the sparks 465 kit is pretty reliable. Why does he want to move down to a 440?

He says that the 465 is a powerhouse, but it just doesn't get up and spining (rev) as fast as he would like it to. He said the 440 is smaller and can rev fast enough.

nausty for 2 strokes the limti is 265 for 4 strokes the limit is 440..this is only for certain classes, banshees generally race in the open class
