I already have 22" razrs on my front and 20" razrs on my rear but i recently just picked up a set of rear stock rims with no tires on them and was wondering what to put on them...I live no where near dunes, or sand tires would be an automatic, I do mostly trail riding and gravel pit riding..any sugestions would be appreciated

thanks

kinda depends. you could go with a more agressive tire for muddy conditions, of a tire more suited for drypack. if you want another trail tire, i would say go with the Kenda Knarly. great tire, good all around.

well some have my friends have told me to get mudlites for when i go in the mud, and snow, but ive been skeptical about those on sport quads, i was thinking maybe 22" razr 2 because i would like something a little more aggressive for snow and mud possibly

mudlites are a great tire, but not sure on a 400ex though. Razr 2s are great too, but very heavy. i would not go with a true mud tire, just a more agressive one. i think the razr 2's would be a good choice, but the Knarly comes in a 22" as well, or even try some I-razrs. i have heard they are great in the mud.

are the i-razrs 6 ply?...ive also heard good things about them but im also not sure if they come in a 22"...i would like the extra inch of clearance although i guess then id lose a little bit of bottom end in the mud

Get you some 22's. I run them on my EX and love the extra clearance. Razr2's are the best, but for less money the Kenda Knarly & Klaw XC's are very nice also. I run the Klaws, but that's only because the Knarly's were out of stock and I needed 22's right then. I must say I've been very impressed with the Klaw XC's though.;)

NCexRider...i can already assume you gained some top speed by going to a bigger tire, unless you changed your front sprocket, incase you didnt, i was wondering how much bottom you lost, and if it was really noticeable through trails?

I really didn't lose much bottom end, power difference wasn't that noticeable with the '05 gearing. It's not a bad idea to drop a tooth in the front when you run 22's, which I eventually did, as the 22's are a little heavier than stock size 20's.

or maybe some maxxis 4-snow tires.

yesterday i was talking to a riding buddy of mine and he said that if i got a set of mudlites they would be good in the mud, and then when winter came, he told me to turn them around so that they arent as aggressive and kind of form a paddle in the snow, has anyone tried this?...if so what did you think?

Holeshot HD. they are stiff rubber and will not wear as bad in the hard pack. I think the idea of putting all these mud tires on sport quads is pure stupidity... but to each his own i guess.
