both are almost identical (the 450r i thin produces two more ponies) Dirt Wheels said the YFZ handled better than the 450r, hence allowing you to go faster! its really all just personal preference for those two 06 models though!

I'm die hard honda :macho .......but they ride competely different, to me the peg to seat height on a YFZ450 is uncomfortable so I am much more comfortable on the 450R and in the long run stock for stock the 450R seems more reliable than the YFZ450. Oh yeah did I mention 450R is just better cause its a HONDA :macho :macho

the cooler lines on the 450r are to vonderable adn easy to break from sticks so i think yfz's are better for woods racing. but i also think the yfz is better because the are smaller and easier to whip around.

Get whichever one is more comfortable, the '06's are so close as it is stock. And as far as reliability...Yamaha and Honda are pretty close to the same.
