kickstart

I was thinking of adding a kickstarter to my YFZ as a back-up in case I have battery or starter issues I can just kick it, my question was when I add the starter do I need to buy the hot-start cable and lever too or just the kickstarter and the internal parts? is the hot start neccessary?

I have a kickstart on my yfz and the electris still on it, You don't need the hot start, my buddy had one on his and he had nothing but problems out of it..
