if my 400ex is set up and jeted to run half and half racing gas and 93 octane pump gas can i also run just 93 octane pump gas in it with out aney problems????

only if your compression allows it. if you run mix because of compression dont go to straigh 93. if you run mix just because, you should be fine running 93, might be a little rich though.

No need to run race fuel or a mix with stock compression. All you need is premium (91,92 or 93). Some people even claim to run 87.

jo, from what i'm hearing the 87 doesnt work too well mainly for starting since they are cold blooded engines have you hard the same thing?

No. I think it has more to do predetonation when it get warmed up.

Honda recommends 92 or higher octane rating which is what I run. I just stated that some people 'claim' to be able to run 87.

Correct, you could run it on any fuel you could fine i.e. gasoline but usually anything under 89 the warm up time will be different, and can cause motor malfunction i.e. valves pinging.
