hey everyone iam really interested in buying a 2003 banshee, but i have some questions. what is the perfect mixure of gas and oil for a shee with fmf pipes and a K&N air filter. also i was wondering on the average how long does a full tank of gas last if you are just trail riding. Also how often should the engine be rebuilt and how much would it cost. Ive never owned a two stroke so any info would help.

i would go somewhere between 32:1 and 40:1. i personally have always run 32:1. i would go with yamalube 2r or one of the maxima oils... gas time is on a case by case basis- depending on how hard you ride it, how on your jetting is, etc... and each bike is different. if you take good care of it you could go several years without rebuilding it.. and as long as you dont break anything they are relatively inexpensive to rebuild (a top end), if you can do the work or know someone who can...

well, not sure about banshees but 2 stroke dirtbikes, you can normally get a full season of riding on one top end, then you might get away with jsut replacing the rings, which woul donly be like like 30 bucks? if not, then you would need to get a new piston and rings, gasket kit, and possibly bore it out more, that would run you about 200 to do all that. Then you will have it running good as new.

ummm for a 32-1 ratio of fuel and gas if i had a 5 gallon gas can how much gas and how much oil would that be or how much gas for one bottle of oil. also all in all do you think its worth getting a shee or getting a polaris predator.

32:1 is 4 ounces of oil for every 1 gallon of gas

I like running 40:1 which is 16 ounces per 5 gallons, 32:1 seems a little much.

ok i just went to go and check out a shee that iam interested in tonight. It looked pretty good, had some rust hear and there but nothing major just surface. the guy is asking 3,000 for it and iam wondering if its a good deal or not. its a 2000 shee with fmf full pipes, nothing fancey they arent cromed they are black. the tires should be good for maybe 2 seasons. it also has pro tapper bars. umm the thing that iam worried about tho is its a 2000 so it might be due for a rebuild. Is a rebuild under $500?? he said he got it service last summer and the compression was perfect and the sprockets were changed. Iam not to sure if i should buy it or not. If anything i think iam going to offer him $2,500 cash. Does anyone think i should buy it or get a newer one like a 02 or 03

I have a 2003 Banshee with a cool head on it with a bunch of other mops, but I run 32:1 change the gear oil in it about twice a season and I still have the same compression in it as when I put the cool head on it 3 seasons ago. If you run any more than 100 octane you are wasting your money. I run a VP 110/Chevron 91 50/50 mix and I have those results.

acesfull your right and your wrong. Higher oct. gas does have its benifits. For one its cleaner burning. Now personally I wouldn't go out and pay the extra dough for racing fuel unless I was running a compression high enough to need it, but if you have the money the higher octane fuel does burn cleaner, and in turn results in less carbon build up. Is it worth the money? No. The performance doesn't go up any with using higher octane fuel, and the cost of it compared to the cost of removing the carbon buildup is unjustifiable. Now if your running a compression of 160 or above I'd run the good stuff just to be safe.

32-1 is what a you run in a banshee...if you call any shop that sells shees they will tell you 32.1..... youn dont need race gas .. as for 3000 you can get a shee with more mods then that for around that price ..
