I JUST PUT A NEW CLUTH AND PERCH ON MY 400EX.I HAD TO TAPE THE CLUTCH SWITCH THAT CAME WITH THE STOCK PERCH TO MY HANDLE BARS.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO FLAT OUT ELIMINATE THIS SWITCH SO THAT I CAN START IT IN GEAR?

You can just cut the wires to the switch and connect the two ends together. Then you can wrap up the excess wire and tuck it under the plastic and zip tie it to something.

What he said is correct ^^^ Don't forget that if you leave the quad in gear and don't have the clutch pulled in, anytime you hit the starter button the quad will lunge forward a few feet. Just a little safety thing to keep in mind..:)

is there a way to set it up with an aftermarket perch so that you HAVE to pull in the clutch to start it in gear, like on stock?
