First of all i would like to know what the coating is that they put on the cylinder after boring out a 450r, can any machine shop do it? Second i havent heard anyting about a rossier 480 big bore kit, i was very happy with his cam and pipe but im wondering if his kit makes as much power as other companies and how reliable is it,

The coating is usually Nikasil (sp?) which is a hard plating process to reduce wear and tear, and no, not any machine shop can do it unless they have the proper machinery to do so. You'd have to call a place like Millenium technologies or US Chrome of Wisconsin. I haven't heard anything on the Rossier big bore myself, sorry.

The Rossier big bore kit is a choice of two aftermarket kits. I know one is the Athena and I am not sure about the other. Give Joe a call and I am sure he will be glad to talk to you.
