What are ya'll classifying as an mx 400. Mine is pretty much stock but I am setting it up for partially mx. Mods are in sig. Everything is on exept the powermadds, the mounts have come yet. So If you want me to just for kicks I will post a pic of mine up here its just not like all of ya'lls.

well 1st off i did not cut mine, there aftermarket. And 2nd i race MX and i like to see my tires and less mud to hand onto and then they flap all around

He didnt say you needed LT to be a race quad, but the more advanced riders do. To be an MX quad you just have to ride it on MX stuff. It doesnt have to be tricked out, just stuff that makes it better when riding MX.

Long travel does not mean extended a arms or axle. All LT means is that the shocks are LT as in Longer than stock length. The LT arms are made to fit those shocks, Longer shock travel = LT. Most hardcore XC guys have LT on their quads too.

i think it really comes down to the rider... all of the pople i have raced around who have 450's were not too good at racin (which was only about 6/7 people lol)... so i had them beat... but if you get a good rider on a 450... i dont really think you could stand a chance machine vs. machine... the 450 has me beat by about 6 lengths in a drag race... thats just my 2 cents

i think it depends on how the 440 is built. my perf. shop builds 440s all the time and his will beat built 450s. not all, but most. he's a very good builder too. that always makes a diff.

thanks, I was planning on going with the 250r hood for about 6 months but then went with the 450 one last minute. I chose the 450 one because less people use them.

ya its possible, I have only seen a 450 hood on one other 400 on this site and he mounted it to stock plastics. I think he had an 02 or 03 and he mounted the same exact hood I have to his quad. The hood is only like $45 and looks killer. I really don't think that pictures do it justice.

here's mine. we went riding at our local mx track 2 sundays ago to practice, and my bf's 450r is waiting on new fox air shocks so he was playing around on mine (because he is confident with his manhood and all), and he was keeping up pretty damn well with some of the other pro class riders he rides with...of course my 400 rips because i pc'd it pink, and that naturally gives it a few more horses and a couple more lbs of torque....obviously.

you should have pc'd it blue it adds 100 extra HP while the pink only adds 25:ermm:

dude i wanna get in to MX racing, where do you ride what part of the state are you in.. you cant be far from ARTS parts and repair.. i go there too...

i mostly ride about 30 minutes north of chippewa falls.... i used to work at arts for a couple years and now im at uw-stout....were u ride....if you wanna hit up some mx...try the IRACE series... it a pretty good series they are running, for the amount of people they have that compete...

haha, i never liked suzuki...infact i really hate them. i had a couple bad experiences with their machines, and will never own one again. i guess it just reflects in my everyday life...lol
