View Full Version : Decent first gun?

Well, I turn 18 in a few months, and after I get everything straightened out with my FID, I plan on buying a Smith & Wesson .40 cal polymer framed handgun for $730 new. Ive shot this exact gun before(first handgun ive ever shot), and I just fell in love with the way it shot. Does this sound like a good first gun to just take to the range on weekends to practice shooting?

what stsae r u in cuz i think its a fedral law that you cant buy a handgun till u r 21

my first gun that i bought (well, was bought for me) was a 9mm berretta storm carbine, it was $545

also has the option to upgrade to a .45 cal

its extremely fun to shoot, and feels like something swat would use

it doesnt kick all that much either, the butt plate is like gel

Ok guys........I am fairly new to atving and such.......But! Guns are my life...................
The .40 caliber Smith and Wesson Is a decent gun, however for the price you stated you can get something much better....I have always been a fan of Smiths , Like many other companies they have tried to introduce there own version of a GLOCK . If you would like to email me I can send some pics and info on some other.......................

PS ATKINS..............That gun is WAY overpriced...........I can get them here for around 500 Ive seen em at gun shows less than that

450 ROBOT..........You got a great deal on the Beretta Storm.....They are fun guns.............I almost bought one a couple months ago.............They sell for like 700 by me

yah, we bought it during a clearance sale at huge gun depot last year for christmas

so we jumped all over it haha
