View Full Version : IMS Roll or AC? (pics please)

Ok, I'm getting a new front bumper and want some opinions. I'm either going to get the AC Stadium or the IMS Roll Classic. Which one would you all recommend and what's your reasoning? I'm kind of leaning toward the Stadium because it seems like it would offer more protection and it's cheaper, but I've had problems with AC products fitting before. So which is it, and do any of you have pics of either on your 400?

yes ac seems to be inconsistent for fitting...my nerfs were, but my bumper lined up fine...so i doubt u have anything to worry about...

i have the classic waiting for my 450r wheni get the bike...here is a pic of it on my friends r...it is the same bumper for a 400ex and i also have the ac on my 400ex...the ims is much better quality and a lot bigger than you would expect...here is a pic of the ims on the r...and the ac on the ex(i know the stadium is a lttle different, but i think it is about the same size)

you arew welcome, just remember that the 400ex and 450r use the same bumper, i am sure you can imagine that bumper on the ex...

IMO, the original IMS/Roll bumper looks sort of like a mini version of the AC stadium. So it comes down to what look you are going for...
The IMS/Roll will give your quad a much slimmer look to it, whereas the AC stadium will give the front end a more "full" look to it. Fitment was also no big deal, I just had to file one hole a tiny bit to get the bolt through.

From my experiences with the stadium bumper, it provides the ultimate in protection from roost/rocks while still permitting good airflow. You can see there's not much room for debris to hit other than the bumper. Better that, then my rezzies or oil cooler..

they are essentially 4 posts that flatten out with holes in them...much better quality than the ac(i was na ac bumper nut until i got the ims roll) the ac mounts seemed like they were heated and pounded flat, casuing cracks in both of mine...the ims mounts seem like they were formed in the mold, not after....

the ims went on with out a problem...i have always had to twist and pound on the ac to get them on...

Yeah, I had an AC on my old 300EX. I think you've convinced me to go IMS. Now I need to decide between the classic and the new custom classic. Thanks for all the help/pics Speedy.:)

you are welcome...i never thought i would have anything othr than ac, but i got a good deal on the ims...brnad new for $51...glad i did, the craftsmanship and fit are 100 times better...

I would get whatevers cheaper they both look good.

Ok, I ordered the IMS Classic today. Just to be clear, they didn't offer the option for one for the 400EX at K&K so I ordered the 450R option. It is the same bumper for both, right?:confused:

can't buy a new one, have to chance a used one...they are my favorite bumper, but the ims quality is 100 times better...

Good choice you are going to be glad you went with the ims, thats what I have on mine. great bumper. I had to order mine for the 450 too. Mine was a little hard to get on but it does fit very good.
