The stock rear tires on the LTR are 18", I wan't to run a 20" tire for more ground clearance. How far should I go with the gears? I was thinking 1 tooth down in the front and 2 up in the rear. I also want to run 20" 7 paddle haulers for dunes/drags. Will I need a new chain with this drastic of a gear change? I almost ordered a set of 18" extreme haulers from skat-trak directly but the guy said that the 18" is made for mini's and that my bike would shred the tires to pieces. He said it would tear the carcass at the base of the paddle and they couldn't warranty that. Any suggestions?

Just go one down in the front. That should make you happy. It is an LTZ400 front sprocket style (buy a 13t aftermarket.) The rear looks to be it's own animal.
