My sons got etons for Christmas and have already asked about racing them. They still have more practice sessions before that point but I wanted to gather info on it. Totally new to racing quads.

We have a 70 and a 50m (the m will stand for modified soon).

Are there many races in the Northeast? We're in NJ. I think we may look more at cross country type but maybe MX too. Dad may want to try it too.

Also, I see the GNCC series has 90 cc production modified classes and there is a 70 cc production class. Is that the max cc for that class? And it appears these classes can have most mods (tires, suspension, engine) without a problem? Are these typical through most local series also?

Thanks in advance for the input. This is a very knowledgeable group and I have a lot to learn.

GNCC has 4 90 classes and a 70 class...70cc is the max for this class.. The race is a 45 min race through the woods, hills, mud, etc. Go to gncc.com

Thanks Charles,

I see the GNCC rules, they're AMA rules correct? I also found the atlantic grand prix series which is PA, NY and NJ. They have 2 90 classes and the 70 class. April 2nd is the first race and it's in NJ, think we will try to check it out.

Right now they will be doing mostly practice and trails, I just want to make sure if I modify their quads that I don't have to change back if (if you ask them its when) they start racing.

Most all ama Production classes are all out everything goes. As long as you stay under cc limit. The 4 strokes can go to 125cc's in the 90c Pro class. Come on over and try the GNCC sseries we have a blast.:D Look to see alot of mud!

up here in District 6 there are 3 youth quad classes.

50 cc stock. Some people change the wheels and add nerfbars, but you really aren't supposed to but no body says anything.

70 Production - Anything goes as long as you are under 70cc

90 Production - 2 strokes can go to 90, 4 strokes can go to 125. Again anything goes. I came from this class and it is very competive.

There are more than 3 youth classes in D6 and it is legal to change the wheels & add nerfs in the 50 "stock" class??? Here are some links to the District 6 rules & schedules. In the xc/hs races they follow the 50 limited, 70 production & 90 production rules.

Thanks All,

Lots of Great Information, looks like I get more reading time.

03SP500, We would love to do some riding in New England. Been up there on a street bike and it’s beautiful.

Love the pic AC Dad, looks like us (with the exception of mom, some how she doesn’t get as dirty) when we come back from my friends farm. The worst part is the cleaning…

Sjorge300EX and mxdad, thanks for the district 6 info, that’s probably where they (we) will start when the time comes. Have to get mom’s ok first, maybe we’ll get her to race too.
