wat is better a ltz 400 or a 400ex

i was just wondering wat people thought in this thread about wat was better a stock ltz 400 or a stock 400ex ?

This is a really common question. As noted, you are posting this question in a 400EX-specific forum. Regardless, the Suzuki will have a little more power in a straight line but that's pretty much where the advantages end. The 400EX has better suspension setup, is not as top-heavy, and will definitely be far more reliable, because in the end, it's a Honda.

I had a 400ex and my pops has a z400. Z400 is better hands down. Liqiud cooled. reverse, Feels much more lighter, nicer suspension. And in my IMO i feel it is a bit faster. With me and my dad racing up sand mountain, ut(the biggest mountain in ut, and idaho). We would almost be dead even, and i had a full pipe. His was stock. And we wieghed about 100 more lbs then me. And we all know that us young guns are better then our dads

The only problem with that is then you lack alot on the top-end.

If you're a medium to hard rider (MX) then the 400EX is the way to go. The frame is one of the toughest out there. The Z400 has a problem with the frame getting cracks and sometimes can break due to a hard ride. ( serious MX'n) There are plenty of companies out there that will sell gusset kits for both the 400ex and the Z400, but if you do deciede to get a gusset kit I would go with BARE Performance. It's a great price and high quality material. I believe it sells for under $75.00. BARE Performance can also wield on the kit for you and repaint your frame for under $500.00 i think.

Haha, gilbert man... i dont know how much more power a Z has than a 400ex cause mine smoked yours off the line and you just barely passed me at the end..

and by the way.. i would LOVE my 400ex if it didnt always BREAK!!!! way too many repairs and seeing as the engine isnt even in my quad right now... id have to say your quad looks pretty nice right now

You must of bought a pos because the 400ex is one of the most relible quads out there.
