Will it last the Race?

Well my brother is gettin ready to race his 2nd year in XC on a 440ex. He just doesnt know if it will last a whole race on a stock tank or will he have to pit. Does anybody know weither it will last in a 2 hour race? Thanks

It will last a 7 hour race, but with the 440 kit prolly like 5??

Seven hours on less than 2.5 gallons (not counting the reserve)? I don't think mine will last much over 2.5 - 3, but it would do a 2 hour race.

With a fully done up 440 I highly doubt you will get 2 hours of racing out of it. A lot depends on riding style though.

I race a honda 440 ex. I use between 1.5 to 3 gal of gas. That is for a race length of between 1 and 2 hours and mileage of 15 to 40 miles. However, I race with a clarke 5.5 gallon tank and have gone 14 to 15 laps of 5 miles each on one tank of gas in the 12 hour of america race one. That work out to about 70-miles. When we filled up we put in 4 gallons. so that work out to about 17 miles to gallon. However, that was a very fast track with very little on and off the throthle. I have got worst mileage on a very tight and techical track where you have to get on and off the throthle. So if I was you I would stop and put fuel after 15 to 20 miles to be save with the stock tank.
