i know its not really an engine upgrade but you should definetly get a pipe first.

sparks flywheel key is probably the cheapest, but without pipe, air filter, and jets, its not even worth $25... id pipe it and jet it first, then go after suspension

You can pick up a 416 bore kit for about the same as you would spend on a pipe. But without a pipe and filter, you're not gonna get too much out of the internal mods. Therefore, I would say slip-on exhaust and a K&N.

Just do what I did. Drop it off at the dealer and tell them to build your motor. They asked what I wanted. I just told them to do what was most reliable and a noticeable power increase. See my sig.

pipe, air filter, jet kit, rev box, and a degree key would be the best way to get some power on a budget

Other than the exhaust. The total was $1056. Parts and Labor. i didn't think it was a bad price. And it's still under the 3 yr. warranty I bought, b/c I let a powerhouse honda dealership do all the work. The did the Dyno break on my GSXR 600 back in December and it extended my warranty just by letting them break it in.

i think someones blowin smoke up your as*... i work a honda dealership and once that sleeve is touched, there goes your warranty... i had them replace my piston and cam with aftermarket and they said my warranty would be done then... you might want to double check that

i did i spend alot of money with them, too

do suspension first...if you can't effectively use the "new" power, then it isn't any good to you...a better suspension gives you better handling and feel, allowing you to go faster...

You could always re-gear it.

i would get a good pipe and air filter, then do some suspension work, then go back to the engine and do like a 426 or 416 with a cam.

That's a lot of money. Piston = $126, Cam ~ $130, gaskits ~ $25 bore ~ $75. Do it yourself, get to know your motor, get pissed off a few times, and also get freel labor. That's far from $1000.

agreed.... plus i think the warranty story was just to help you feel reassured spending all that money... if it blows up, your screwed though....

if i had to do it all over again, i would have saved up and bought suspension, then done pipe, etc, etc.

cheapest power gain you can do only cost $15. drop a tooth on your front sprocket. you will be amazed at the differance. you loose a little on the top end but how often do you wind out 5th?
