Hey everyone I picked this up yesterday it's a 97 1500 silverado z71. It's got an aftermarket chrome airdam, billet grille inserts, billet bowtie,clear parking and corner lights, new black cherry paintjob, chrome step bars,power windows,power seats, power locks, 3rd door, and a dual exhaust. 350 automatic, 129,500 miles. I love this truck, since this pic I took off the bed rails and am really contemplating getting rid of the taillights, I've never liked euros and still don't. Anyways I love this truck, tell me what you guys think.

The main reason I wanted this truck other than 4x4 was interior room.

Thanks for the comments, I actually only paid 6,000 for it. Silverados that are nowhere near this nice go for 8k around here all the time, I just got extremely lucky.

dude 15x10s, 15x10s...and get rid of the stock hazed headlights man my headlights got hazed like that and it was so difficult to see at night with them....get some projectors...like 80 bucks off ebay...well worth it...

oh and btw the 97 models have a recall on the windshield wipers so if your windshield wipers start to wigg out then call chevrolet they should take care of it....

i see you have the floor shift transfercase...my truck has the push button electric shift...i like the electric shift 4x4 because i could be bucking 70 and 80 down the road and push the button and shes engaged....

gotta love the z71 man...i know i love mine....i also got my brake lights working again...woot...new tranny, brake lights working...shes good 2 go atleast i think

Yeah I love your truck man, first thing I gotta do is sell my s10 and pay this thing off and after that I'm gonna put a lil system in it and eventually some 15x10 or 16x10 rims.

I'm pretty sure your not supose to switch into 4x4 going 60 or 70 man.

with the electric shift it doesnt hurt. I read the manual to make sure. I have a 1999 that looks just like hessians minus the tint and bed rails. It wont hurt. My 1999 is the OBS too. I need to snap a pic of it, but its not as pretty and done up as 440ex's. I did get smoking deal on it. 1999 for 8,400 bucks!:devil:

do yourself a favor and dont waste your money on the silvy SS...my buddy has one and they are not all they are cracked up to be...all time 4wd too (i think) so that eqals piss poor gas mileage and they dont have nothin but a 6.0 ltr in them...if i was going for a muscle truck id hate to say ford or dodge would be my pick over a chevy SS unless you got the joe gibbs silverado


oh yea far as shifting the transfercase in to 4wd while moving it wont hurt it...ive read the owners manuel too...and ive even asked a few transmission experts..

I haven't sold the s10 yet, but I put it out at my g-ma's house today because she lives on a busy street and had about 5 people stop in and look it over today. Yeah the silverado has the 5.7 and thanks for the comments everyone, love this thing.
