I have someone that can make me a full body skid, the question is, will it be worth it in the end after i have to bend it to fit? Also, are the kick ups on the sides really needed?

Skid plates are easy to make. You don't have to bed anything to much maybe just little bends nothing diffcult. Just get the holes lined up and put spacers between the frame and the skid plate.

Hope this sorta helps.

only part I would bend up would be in the front, to cover that first part fo the frame,,,, that is if your bumper doesent cover it.

But I say them ones on the sides arent needed. they may hold it into place a little better, but as long as u clamp it doun good u should be all set.

what are you going to use to hold it on?. Some of them bolts that have the rounded head may want to be used.

:D This is a XC prototype I drew for Daryl, I've got a buddy that has it w/o the logo in it. I'm waiting to see if it fits up before I give it to them. They haven't seen this yet, maybe Jen will spot this. :blah:

Man I could easily whip some of those up...laser plate cut some .190 aluminum and work and use our 500ton press break to make some nice bends. Better than spending upwards of 100$ for a piece of bent metal.:p

We made some in shop last week for my buddies LT-250R used aluminum D plate and then cut it witha plasma cutter and put some little slitts in it so he could attach it with ahose clamp worked great and cost 3.95 for the clamps

Depending on the cost of it go for it. I made one out of 1/4" plastic, but busted it off... Got a good deal on a used aluminum one so I don't have to worry anymore. I busted one of the tubes that diagonals across the back of the frame where the little plastic stock one mounts up.

just use old road signs or diamond plate.we have road commisioner who saves all old signs and the highway department is a good place to start looking....................dont steal'em, it wont be worth it if you get caught..........................but if you need to make a bend,a roll up for the front or a-arms pieces try useing a hot torch just for a second,,,,,,,,it's called knealing it,,,,,,,,,,,,,makes the burnt area softer....................have you not seen jessie james do it?
