rear hub

i just got back from riding at bluff creek in iowa..it rocks..big motocross tracks..but anyways i was washing my quad and when i went to slide it over a little bit i noticed it had play in the rear hub. is that just a wheel bearing and is it hard to replace. can i just tighten the nut alittle bit?

I could be either, loose locknut or bad bearings. Try to move the axle up and down. If there is any movement then its the bearings.
