400ex Vavle Adjustment

I have a 99 400ex with a 416 kit in it. I had to have my head reground because something was wrong and i kept bending valves so now there is shims in the head! Does this mess with the valve adjustment as far as lifter clearence? I need to adjust them but not sure where to start and im not real comfortable with just doing it to touch or feel!

the shims wont mess with your valve adjustments.however they will mess with your compression ratio and timing chain tension.if its shimmed correctly you shouldnt have a problem.adjust your valves as you normally would

What should i watch for with the timing chain will it break or will i notice any strange noises? Compression probably wont hurt im guessing?? thanks

the chain should be fine,the tensioner will make up for it.
