I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable the reverse rev limiter on a 300EX.

OK if this pic works the red arrow is a cover and stock this should have 2 wires running into it find the one that goes back up around the engine(in my picture the bracket it goes through is used to put the zip ties on to get rid of the button on the bars(blue arrow points to it) it should run all the way back around under the seat to the wiring harness. take that wire and from the wiring harness ground it to some point on the frame(a bolt is a good spot) and that's it:D

Lil90man, which of the two wires do I ground? Both go back to the wiring harness.

yea sorry about that, ok heres another pic where the wires go into the wiring harness, the purpleish wire is the one that you have to ground(the red arrow points to it) if you look at the blue arrow that is where i grounded mine to, the green wire is the other wire coming from down there and i just left it disconnected, im pretty sure that wire is the neutral and reverse lights. also try dissconnecting one of the wires turn you bike on and try and start it, if that wire isn't grounded and its the right wire the bike won't start, the other wire will let the bike start even if its dissconnected

I tried everything, I disconnected the wire on the rightside of the engine that is under that cover and i grounded to the frame, is that the wire you are talkin about? Do you disconnect it there or from the wire harness? I dissconnected it at the wire harness and grounded it and it didnt work the reverse light came on.

if the reverse light came on then u pry have the wrong wire grounded try the other one and it should work,(i'm assuming that u have it in neutral and the reverse lights come on then? another thing is if that wire u grouned made it do that, dissconnect it from the wiring harness and let it hang and try n start it, if it starts its defiantly the wrong wire the bike won't start unless the wire that is the reverse rev limiter is grounded!

So you leave the the two wires on the right side of the engine connected right? When I do it right should there be a noticable difference in how much faster it goes in reverse?

i guess u could leave them connected if u want, but i disconnected mine, but remember if u dissconnect the other wire that isn't the reverse rev limiter your reverse and neutral lights won't work anymore, it will go NOTICEABLY faster in reverse and i'm pretty sure the engines regular rev limiter still kicks in, even in reverse:D hope that answered everything

So if I do it right, then the neutral and reverse lights shouldnt work?

:o ok if u dissconnect the OTHER wire (the "wrong wire") they won't work. i disconnected mine just because i don't use them and have no use for them, if u do it correctly and just ground the rev-limiter wire and leave the other connected the neutral and reverse lights will still work
