new cell phone plan

i want a new cell phone but my dad wont sign nothin cuz he thinks its a waste. anyway im 18 and i have a steady job and a checking account, and as far as im concerned no credit. would i be able to get a new cell phone plan without him signing?

yes. i got one with t-moblie and my credit isnt even the greatest

a cell phone is a great way to build credit if you have none

At least w/ Nextel, you need neither credit or a co-signer.

I was charged a $50 dollar fee of some sort, an extra $2.99 was added to my account/ month, and I was placed on thier spending limit program.

But that's just Nextel, other accounts will vary.

you should def be able to get one on your own, even with no credit.. A lot of companies will just hold a deposit.. I would reccomend sprint cuz they're max deposit is $125.. some other companies can be like $500
