That O-ring gasket at the bottom of the sleeve

Just got my new 426 head back from the machine shop. Couldnt salvage the lower O-ring gasket that goes around the outside of the sleeve. Is this really needed considering there is already a lower head to block gasket?. I start assembly tomorrow and I guess this is the last thing I need to know before I start bolt up.

I did not put one on mine,its been about six months and no leaks.I dont think its a big deal if you dont put one on.

Sweet, im gonna stop at the biek shop on the way home tomorrow. If they have one ill grab it but if its a special order I like the option of saying "Forget It"
