I test rode a 98 300EX that I want to buy. The guy started it up and everything, then told me to hop on and take it for a quick ride. Well he left the choke on and I didnt know it. When I was riding, the bike was fine until about half throttle and then it started sputtering after that. I think this is due to the choke being on full. Am I correct? Also, would the choke being on cause a loss in power?

Thanks,
Joey

Thanks for the reply, but my dad being the he is said I cant buy the 4 wheeler. First he was gonna let me get a new xr250 for $4700. But I told him I wanted to wait. Then he changed his mind and said get a used one. So I found a 2000 model for $3000. Well he said no again, and told me to find something for around 2200-2500. Well I find this nice 98 300EX for $2300. Might as well give it to me for free, runs great. This is the best deal I have come across yet, and then he said no again tonight. He pisses me off so bad. Im 18, I have $1500 saved up, I have a steady job making enough money to pay for the $800 loan I would need, my insurance, gas, and entertainment for myself. I dont know what to do.

Any advice,
Joey

I am 18, but someone told me you have to be 19 in Alabama. I dont really know what to do to get a loan either, I live with my parents, I dont have any collateral, because my parents pay for the truck. I pay insurance and gas. But anyway I think for the type of riding I would do, the 300EX suits me better. I would be riding trails and reverse would be a nice thing to have. Plus this is a really good deal. Im still trying to talk my parents into letting me spend my own money.

Wish me luck,
Joey
