K&N filter and stock airbox prob.

I bought a air filter for my 300ex and it doesn't fit. I have heard that i should cut part of the airbox off, or melt part of it. Has anyone else had this problem?I know it will most likely fit in front of that post thing, but on the bottom of the air box where it comes up, I cant get my filter even with the intake.

I had the same problem with my 300EX. If you are really careful, it will fit. Just barely! The problem I had was with the center post sticking up in the air box. I never cut mine off, I was just really careful when I put my K&N filter on, so as not to crush it.
