I just got in my new E-SERIES PIPE and it has a dimple in the back , Is this normal ...maybe for tire clearance...?????

What about the dent that stock pipes get, is that from the caliper? I have notied it on many different bikes, all different sizes. Mine is pretty good sized, but I dont think I am bottoming like that.
